About Us

CiTop-IoT is a family owned automation company established in 2020 and located in Helsinki, Finland. The founders and the main staff has over 40 years of experience in designing, manufacturing and supplying turnkey automation solutions all over the World. 

We have own Cloud based IoT-SCADA application and own IoT-PLC and IoT-Sensor solutions to modern wireless (e.g. NB-IoT) remote monitoring applications for industrial use. We can offer solutions directly to customers companies or 3rd party system integrator companies. In both cases we can protect your market so you can build your business on solid platform. Most of our products and solutions are designed and manufactured in Finland.

Remote monitoring solutions using NB-IoT communication

NB-IoT is modern GSM data communication standard designed especially for IoT-device communication purposes. It can operate in 2G-5G networks. 

Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) enables broad coverage, high capacity, and very low power consumption and data rates (50–200 kbps) for devices. NB-IoT is well suited to stationary sensors with batteries intended to last for several years.

Maximum coverage is achieved using a simple signalling structure and repeating messages, so NB-IoT also offers solutions for uninhabited areas and indoor areas.

Depending on the application, NB-IoT promises battery lives of 5–10 years based on features such as various power saving functions on the NB-IoT network. Devices can enter a state known as “deep sleep”, where they only send data at predetermined times, such as once a week or even less frequently.

Thanks to the low data transfer capacity and simple structure, large numbers of devices and sensors can be connected to local NB-IoT networks. A narrow range within the 4G LTE band will be allocated for the sole use of NB-IoT devices, which is free from interference. 

NB-IoT is a standardised Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technology built on the existing 4G LTE network technology and intended for IoT devices.
